The conference invites actors from academia and practice to share knowledge and experiences on effective partnership management and building. Submission of topic proposals is open until October 31.

From April 3 to 6, 2024, the Cross Sector Social Interactions (CSSI) symposium series will be held under the theme “Power and Inclusion in Cross Sector Social Interactions” in South Africa, Cape Town. The aim is to promote and share knowledge and experiences on how to effectively partner for sustainable development. The symposium is hosted by the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business in collaboration with The Partnering Initiative (TPI)PRME Chapter Africa and the Embedding Project.

Both scholars and policy makers are calling for a shift in the development paradigm so that the theory and practice of development are more inclusive of local actors and intellectual traditions from the Global South. The CSSI Symposium 2024 aims to contribute to this goal and will be held for the first time on the African continent at the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business.

To ground the symposium in the practical realities of partnerships in the Global South, there will be a series of learning journeys to learn about the opportunities and challenges for cross-social interactions in the context of Cape Town. Active exchange among participants will also be encouraged through a variety of panels, presentations, and conversations with practitioners.

Submission of topic proposals is still open until October 31, 2023, via the CSSI Symposium website.
