Inside Partnerships2030

Partnerships2030 was represented at the HLPF on July 6 as part of the virtual, English-language “Session 3 – Transformational Partnerships: national platforms and practical tools to promote collaboration, policy integration and coherence”.

This year’s UN High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) took place in New York between July 5 and 15 2022 under the theme “Building back better from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) while advancing the full implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development“. In addition to ministerial meetings, many other actors were present at side events to exchange knowledge on sustainable initiatives and share their contributions to the 2030 Agenda.

Partnerships2030, on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), co-hosted “Session 3 – Transformational Partnerships: national platforms and practical tools to promote collaboration, policy integration and coherence with the Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare, Government of ZimbabweUN DESA and The Partnering Initiative (TPI). The training session visited by 300 participants was published as a Zoom Meeting and livestreamed on Youtube.

In the first presentation of the session, Christy Davis described her experiences in building partnerships, followed by a case study of how Zimbabwe is including more cooperation and partnership in the national sustainability strategy. This was discussed from a government perspective by Minister Simon Masanga and from a civil society perspective by Judith Kaulem. After the break, Darian Stibbe from The Partnering Initiative and Susanne Salz from Partnerships2030 described how partnerships can achieve added value and how their impact can be measured using the impact narrative.
