Partnerships2030

Fast transport links, digital networks, innovative start-ups and reliable energy supply provide the foundation for value creation in which the whole population can participate. Without these, innovative industries rarely emerge. Where such infrastructure does exist, governments need to make it sustainable in the face of climate change. Knowledge transfer and investment can drive positive development, and multi-stakeholder partnerships have a vital role to play. In the area of infrastructure, the global transport sector is of great importance.

As an example of a MAP doing valuable work in this area, this factsheet cites the Foundation ‘Partnership on Sustainable, Low Carbon Transport’ (SLoCaT). SLoCaT is pushing for a low-carbon transport revolution, making a significant contribution to SDG 9.
