Tips and Tricks

Multi-stakeholder partnerships (MSPs) do not exist in isolation and independently, but always in the midst of unequal relations within and between societies. Therefore, power imbalances play just as much of a role within MSPs as in international cooperation. At the same time, MSPs offer the actors involved the opportunity to address these imbalances transparently and constructively and thus contribute to strengthening collaboration on an equal footing. This practical guide sheds light on these questions by addressing the causes of power imbalances and highlighting the positive effects of collaboration on an equal footing. It also presents concrete approaches and methods for promoting collaboration on an equal footing at various levels within MSPs.
