Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) refers to the social responsibility of companies for sustainable business practices. This includes social, ecological and economic aspects. In this way, companies take responsibility for the social impact of their economic activities and make a decisive contribution to a sustainable world in line with the 2030 Agenda.

In the fifth edition of the CSR Award, the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (BMAS) is honouring projects and measures by companies that show how sustainable action along value and supply chains can succeed in concrete terms. The award recognises companies that contribute to greater environmental and social responsibility in their supply chain through individual projects or measures in one of the following five award categories: (1) Good business practices, (2) Effective training, (3) Effective protection of climate and biodiversity, (4) Digital tools for transparent supply chains, (5) Constructive involvement of stakeholders.

All companies of any size based in Germany are invited to apply. This also includes subsidiaries of foreign companies based in Germany as well as public companies and non-profit organisations with entrepreneurial activities. Eligible companies can submit their projects or measures via the online application form by 30 September 2024. The winners will be selected by an independent jury of CSR experts and representatives from business, science, politics and civil society and will be honoured at an awards ceremony in Berlin in 2025.
