At the seminar day of the Gesellschaft für Nachhaltige Entwicklung (GNE), the participants were given general information on multi-stakeholder partnerships (MSP), an in-depth look at the initiation phase and the offer of Partnerships2030 in three parts.

As part of the further training programs International Project Management (IPM), Climate Protection & Adaptation (CPA) and Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) of the Gesellschaft für Nachhaltige Entwicklung (GNE), 15 participants took part in the seminar day on MSP organized by Partnerships2030 on November 25th. Some of the international participants had years of experience in development cooperation, and the workshop built and deepened their knowledge of MSP.

The first of three parts of the event was about general information about MSP around SDG 17, different types of MSP, challenges and potential as well as success factors. The Alliance for Integrity (AfIn) and the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (D-EITI) were cited as practical examples of MSP. In addition, the issue of impact measurement within MSP was addressed.

In the following part, the various phases of an MSP were then focused on and this section specifically dealt with phase 1, the initiation, with special attention to the context of an MSP and the cooperation management. In order to deepen the understanding of these negotiation processes, a role play was carried out in which the participants took on the roles of different groups of actors.

After that, the range of activities of Partnerships2030 was discussed and the participants had the last opportunity to ask questions.
