Case study on multi-stakeholder partnerships in the mining industry in Kenya

The publication “Partnering for our Common Future: Optimising mining’s partnering capability to contribute to community resilience and thriving societies published by “The Partnering Initiative” (TPI) and the “International Council on Mining and Metals” (ICMM), uses examples from Kenya to show how multi-stakeholder partnerships (MSPs) in the mining industry can be optimized to contribute to greater resilience and thriving communities.

The case study is based on a survey across ICMM´s membership, as well as interviews and focus group discussions. It analyzes the extent to which mining companies are fit for partnering and provides a self-assessment tool that enables companies to identify areas for improvement to form more effective partnerships and deliver significantly greater collaborative value.
